“You should never judge a book by its cover.”
We’ve heard this expression since we were children. Why? Because it’s what’s on the inside that counts. But we’re given this advice for a simple reason: even though we know that it is the substance that matters, as humans we judge what we see. We can’t help it. What we see feeds us information and our instincts react to it.
Graphic design is a representation of the inside on the outside.
Design is about who, what, and why. It is communicating your ideas, setting the tone, and grabbing the right kind of attention. There is one shot to make a first impression, seconds to grab the eye.
Incidentally, book covers look pretty good these days, don’t they?
True Northe is a graphic design company focused on communicating your ideas. Web design is my focus but I also create identity packages, such as logos, letterhead, business cards, as well as other print collateral, like brochures, presentation folders, and the like.
It’s hard to tell what a book is about without a cover. Businesses and organizations are no different.

Why work with True Northe?
Design is part art, part science, and an idea wrapped in one. As the creative director, lead designer and secretary, I work on your project from start to finish. You will always talk to and work with the lead designer.
Many design firms have overhead costs that include an office lease, employee salaries, healthcare costs, and any number of pricy necessities. What results is a very high fee. Because True Northe is operated by one person, the cost of doing business is much lower, and the savings goes to you, the client.
I am happy to work with clients in the Seattle and Puget Sound area, and typically work with businesses in Poulsbo and Bremerton. Telecommuting is also possible.

I graduated magna cum laude from California State University at Stanislaus (in the small and friendly town of Turlock) with a bachelors in English and an Art minor. It’s still a dream of mine to one day publish a novel.
When it comes to graphic design, I am completely self-taught—and proud of it. My graphic design education is ongoing. There is so much to learn, so much inspiration to glean, how could I possibly stop seeking out information and generating new ideas?
It is my job, it is my hobby, it is my passion.
