About

My name is Courtney Kirchoff. I am a designer, writer, horse enthusiast, and sarcastic remarker. In addition to graphic design, I also work as a contractor doing technical writing and editing.

But this blog is not about me. Well, it’s not about me most of the time. This blog is about design, my opinions on design, general thoughts and musings. It’s where I can post information about my business, my current projects, and what makes True Northe special.

I currently live and work in Poulsbo, Washington, a little village just west of Seattle. True Northe does not have a big fancy building, or receptionists, a coffee machine, or a water fountain. My business is operated out of my home, which means overheard costs are naught.

What makes True Northe different from other design firms? In point of fact, my designs are creative, artistic, and all and all non-boring. I believe design is about communicating an idea but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done with flare. I like raising eyebrows, or even creating a sigh of relaxation (when it’s called for). But my designs should illicit a reaction.

My favorite kinds of businesses are ones that aren’t afraid to show some personality. They, too, believe that being corporate doesn’t mean yawning. I can work with businesses large or small, corporations, or mom and pop shops.
